Hello all, i am looking for an exhaust for my 325 sport track car. It's not for the road (if that matters) but it does need to come under 100db for track days which has wasted much of my track time in the past trying to get it down on other cars!

Doesnt need to be chrome or anything, i just want the best gains!

Cheers

you won't beat a stock bmw boysen system. Thats the truth. only an alpina 50mm system will better it but they are £1300

As Si says, the standard BMW system is the best. Fantastic build quality (they're a lot heavier than the cheapo systems) and you can see just looking down the bores of the silencers that's they're going to be efficient. It's a pity Boysen have stopped making BMW aftermarket exhausts (BMW stopped them by giving them the contract for factory fit systems). Apart from all the daydream claims you're not going to see any significant power gain from using anything else. About the only aftermarket zorsts that a) last for years and b) give a small increase without being noisy are the Sebring systems.
A standard 325i system will weigh in at around £4-500. About twice the price of some Bosal rubbish but 20 times better.

The only downside of the OE exhaust for a track car, is it's no lightweight!

sounds like a good reason to not waste the money and spend it on something else!

Sebring do indeed make good exhausts. Supersprint also make an excellent quality product. I, too, was in the same position as the original poster (worried about noise limits ~ and ours are less than 95db on "loud days"). I went with the Supersprint cat-back system and couldn't be happier. Sensational build quality and the fit was perfect. They are lighter, too (save that weight!).
