Would have been sometime in the late nineties, the body repairers I used to work for does all the work for the local BMW dealers, they have a special paint scheme (water based) just for this.

Cool, someone told me it was when the E36 came out but thought it was later, maybe on the facelift cars? Are all paintshops using waterbased now?
