I need a battery isolator for my 325i so marshals can turn it to switch the engine off.

The cut off needs an altinator protection circuit, has anyone fitted one of these before?

I am not entirely sure how to wire it in!

Not sure in wiring; but position it on the panel at the bottom of the drivers side windscreen, makes it very easy for a marshal to find. If you've got aan extinguisher, make sure you use text labels as well as graphics as they're very easy to confuse in the heat of the moment.

We position them in the old clock hole in the dash, make up a nice panel and stick it there, then run a cable pull to the scuttle on the PAX side

Wiring is through the ignition with the resitor and also through the main power feed, use the starter motor as your connection block

THey all come with a diagram

Fitted one about an hour ago :D . Easiest place is to remove the steering cowling (if still fitted) and cut the thick red wire that goes to the back of the ignition switch. The bit still joined to the ignition switch gets joined to the switch side of cut out spade end 2, the other end of the wire gets joined to the coil side of 2. 1 is a short loop of wire from the spade terminal to the main feed, the other side of 1 runs to earth, anywhere handy to get to will do.

The easiest way for the main feed (tho technically not the best) is to run a heavy cable from the battery + directly clamped on the battery to the switch. Run another cable out from the switch and join it to the original battery terminal clamp (now disconnected from the battery) with all of the feed wires still attached to the original battery terminal clamp.
