Before anyone says "500cc you fookin dinnie"
My Q is : Is the bore different or is there a longer stroke ?
I ask because i know they are both M20 lumps and a lot of the parts are the same , does this mean the heads are identical and the difference is in the bottem end , i want this to be the case cos i have not long moved from 320 to 325 and the 320 will soon be for sale , i also have a spare 320 doin nowt but sittin around , it has a sweet lump tho , so what i want to be told is that i can use the head should the worst happen to mine , as it seems to be all the rage on here at the moment to crack heads ! !

Please make me a happy bunny and say yes !

320 = 80x66 (bore x stroke mm)

325 = 84x75

The heads and bottom ends are different I'm afraid. :?

No probs mate.

When my newly slotted in 325 engine's head went, I had a perfectly good 2.0 engine still there. Can't go back to being slower. Gotta be back to 2.5 or better!!

the 2.0 is about the same on fuel as the 2.5 ??

plus the 2.5 pulls better.

There aint a chance that i could go back either , i was over the moon with the 320 when i first got it , i had it for about a year and i would have stuck with it but the 325 came up at auction for Ԛ£460 and i had to take the chance and buy it , i was lucky as the only prob with it was the lack of clutch plate !

320i heads will drop straight on the E28 525e block, giving a budget 2.7 motor that folks reckon will give about 175bhp and more torque than a 325i when fed with 325i injectors etc etc.
