just found out that the wifes been washing her e36 with fairy up liquid, what damage may this have done and what should i do to sort it out, its metalic boston green if that matters

rinse well and wax, then don't let her do it again.

The salts in the fairy have probably washed off any previous wax applications.

Yeah I'd go read it again !

It would be too abbrassive to use every time you wash.

Brianmoore has often advised people to check for power to their fuel pump but not when people are having problems with their ABS!

That correct, but since we've already been told this car has been washed in fairy liquid for as long as OP knows and it hasn't got any wax on it, and his missus has no intention of usning Zaiono or any other paint protectant its a moot point really isn't it?!?!

Fairy (Other brands are available) is a degreaser, Fine if you intentionally want to remove all traces of wax/sealant.

However if you regularly wash your vehicle with it and do not replenish the wax, It will damage the paint.

You know these 8-10 year old cars that look totally flat and lifeless, They have oxidised paint generally caused by not protecting the surface.

Wax? Either Meguiars mirror glaze (number 16) or collinite 476s or 915s

I was just parked next to a 06' plate and was amaised at how flat the paint was compared to mine. No doubt a reps car washed at the local carwash or a fairy job
