i think most tracks insist on road legal cars or fully track prepped cars with cages, buckets, harnesses etc.no old bangers anymore. you can get track day insurance just in case if you have something valuable.agreen wrote:no insurance needed for uk track days
thats a risk everyone takes on the day. its fun and a great adrenaline buzz. i avoid the corner tussles and fly past most on the long straights.konrad565 wrote:I wouldn't a get a complete sh1t pit cause as you said I wouldnt want to damaged anyone elses pride and joy and I would want to look too stupid either
Just take whatever car you currently own and go for a track day. If you keep your head about you then you're no more likely to get hurt, ditch it or otherwise than on the road.konrad565 wrote:To be completely honest I'm a little scared (pathetic I know!) but I just think it would be really dawnting going on a track for the first time!

Cheers boss will look into it.Most organised track days will have a couple of instrutors on hand who'll sit in the car with you for a few laps and show you how it's done....usually at no extra charge.
Trackfun who run days up at Goodwood are excellent in this respect.
