im having problems with my wipers recently, halfway through there cycle on intermitent wipe they stop and dont do anything but when they are not on they move of there own accord! anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Contact disc on the back of the motor. Might be dirty and gunked up, might be corroded and shot.

Yep, but check it's not just filled with old grease first.

it works fine when on constant tho so would this be a relay fault ?

Most bizzare E30 fault i recall is that one of the spare fuses falls out of the fuse-box lid, and bridges the contacts on the relay (located below) - usually causes random wiping whilst cornering.

Unlikely, but takes 10 seconds to check/rectify.

thanks fuzzy, im gona atempt to clean the motor tomorrow and il chaeck all the fuses too
