Hi, painting my engine bay so gearbox and engine are out and have discovered the centre bearing on the propshaft is fubar. :(
My car is a '90 318is.
I have a full propshaft from a '86 323i in good nick.
Can I do a straight swap or will the length/balance be wrong?
Any advice, thanks.
:)

E30 propshafts come in various assorted lengths, but the centre bearings (post facelift) are all the same and easily swapped.
The two halves of a propshaft are balanced as a whole, so keep original halves together, and assembled with the same splines together.
There should be a white dot on each half to show how they fit.
Ah! Just noticed! Your good prop is pre facelift! The two mounting holes are a slightly different distance apart.
