Rusty turds with sh*t suspension as standard. 323 is the weapon of choice, 320 on carbs is supposed to be a nightmare. Throw some money at it and they can be made to go well. A tidy one is fooking cool.

Uh-huh, don't really know a lot then pacerpete. £250 is nothing for a car and E21s are lovely. Good luck tom.

The 320 is the one to avoid. They're very heavy on fuel, not very fast and the Solex Pierburg carb is a disaster. The only ones worth having are the 323i or a late 316 with the 1800 engine and 5 speed gearbox.
You say it's a 320i - that means it's a P or R reg thing with the 4 cyl M10 and K Jetronic. Rare but hardly desirable.

My first BMW was a black '81 320. Lovely car, but as Andy says, very heavy on fuel, and absolutely lethal in the wet!

I ended up giving it away - and it was one of the rare, unrusty examples! :)

Funniest memory of that car was watching my ex use a hairdryer to remove the original, factory fit ///M stripes from down the side of the thing in the pouring rain.... how she didn't get electrocuted I don't know!!

Hi

The E21 323i have gone up in value, they other ones are still cheap, any thing with a good shell is worth 250. If they are 320i's ie 4cly fuel injection then they are worth the money more collectable than a 323i.

easy bits to sell are good chrome, power steering set up and 6cly front subframe fuel tanks, you get about £250 for the front subframe & bumpers on US ebay.

My parts sell better on ebay than the e21 newgroups, as most guys on the news groups have spares or frag cars from time to time.

Actually, another rarity is an early 320 m10 hehe. I'd have one if I could find one. I have a nice 316 ( 1.8 ) in the shed though and I like it. Used to race a 323 with a 2.5 in that and it was an ok race car on triple 45 Dellortos.

You hear me Rosco ? :P
