overheating

i just recently bought a E30 cabriolet and it has started to overheat every thing seems to boil up then all the water comes out of the over flow on the filler bottle any help would be a life saver at this minute thinking of letting the car go thanks

thanks for that been there im in the process of changing thermostat and finding price for water pump crisis averted thanks
