Just bought this a few weeks ago.

1985 323i Coupe
64K genuine miles
Full electrics (windows, mirrors, sunroof)
Recaro sport seats
Full OBC

Completely standard apart from the crappy wheels :D

Set me back Ԛ£800 which is a bit steep but to find one with low mileage like this and a good solid base car isn't too bad. Its got loads of history, hardly any miles on the clock and the interior is absolutely mint - the bodywork needs a bit of attention, a few superficial rust spots but nothing major, all panels are straight. Should tidy up pretty well.

The bonnet seems to have dropped a bit  you can just see it on the 3rd and 5th pic - anyone know if its easy to adjust ?

Planned :-

Just bought a full genuine MTEC 1 Kit and when I have the pennies its getting fitted with a full respray, dechrome, 17" Alpina replicas with 40mm drop and leather retrofit. Not sure about ICE yet - nothing too crazy, probably just a decent head unit, amp, good set of components in the front and a sub in the boot.

I'll post more as the project progresses :D

At the front end of the bonnet, underneath, there are two rubber "bungs", they can be screwed in and out to raise and lower the height of the bonnet, try that.

Looks like a real good base car you got there, nice and clean, what are plans for it?

Regards Mark.

The jury is still out on the leather colour. With a red car the obvious choice is black, but I've seen Naylor04's silver grey leather and I have to say it looks gorgeous. Especially with the horizontal E36 style stitch pattern as oposed to the vertical stitching on the E30 sport seats.

Not sure whether it'd look any good on a red car though, maybe I need to grab one of Naylor's pics which shows both interior and exterior and play in Photoshop to see how it would look on a red car. Need to learn Photoshop first though

Another choice would be to respray black but it'd cost a fortune to do under the bonnet, in the boot etc etc

BTW Naylor04 if your reading this, that leather looks the dogs danglies. One of the nicest leather retrofits I've ever seen

Swindy, thanks for the tip, I'll try the bonnet adjustments tonight :D
