hi there

i have been planning on putting the m3 engine in my sport for a while now i have all the parts to mount the engine including e34 sump, golf servo, e34 brake rod etc etc i have also recently bought a e36 with a running m3 engine.

my main concern is the exhaust manifold and the price off it has anyone here managed an alternative to the btb that wont greatly affect the power.

lastly can anyone tell me what the cars like to drive after the conversion as the e36 m3 power is delivered totally different to the m20 does it work well with the chassis or is it a complete animal to drive.

cheers

I have DIY'd manifolds that are 95% finished (Ive actually done 2 sets) but I still went for the BTB manifolds. It was expensive yes, but considering the engine I think its worth not messing it up. It would be a shame to fit the engine only to strangle it with dodgy manifolds.

Having only driven mine round my driveway ( :x ) I cant really comment on what its like to drive, but I think the general consensus is that its easy enough to drive day to day, but can be an animal when you want it to be - perfect
