325 touring. Reverse light (at rear) and rear fogs not showing anything. When selected, the front dash light illuminates, but only when the front fogs are also on. No signs of life on reverse lights. This is the same on both sides of the car (i.e. neither rear fogs and neither reverse lights are working).
Curiously, the front drivers side fog light is also not working.
Any help would be appreciated, particularly as the car is due an MOT next week, and I can be guaranteed that the sh1ts will pick this up.
Reverse lights and rear fogs
Moderator: martauto
the switch s probably the problem for th reverse lights ..you have to check under the car if the current is getting there..check under the gear lever surround and see if any of the wires have been cut...as to the fog...bulb connection under the valance...?
Any suggestion of where i should be checking for the current with the reverse light???
As for the fog lights, nothing seems any clearer. Maybe the front buld is disconnected/blown, but what about the rears???

its good your reverse lights are at the rearAlwyn wrote:325 touring. Reverse light (at rear)
i dont know if they are all connected? i wont say check the fuses because thats the obvious answer and i bet thats the 1st place you looked.
get under the car and check the connection to the gear box.
flow the wire from the gear leaver and see if thats fine.
do you need reverse lights for the MOT? i got told you dont but its hard to believe.

yeah i guessed checking all the basics is standard dont worry.
i heard you dont need reverse lights but i dont really trust that info - mine dont work right now
yeah check connection on the gear box - if you havent? my wire got cut through by the prop last time

Ok, will check that on sunday morning.
Still leaves the question, why the hell are the rear fogs not working.
If it helps, I was tooling around behind the glove box fitting a new bonnet release catch. From looking at a could of other posts, I understand there is a some circuit board or something in there... Any ideas what this looks like, as I would like to check that I have not damaged it.

Not sure about the fogs but the easiest way to check the wiring and bulbs etc for the reverse lights is to short the connector under the gear stick gaiter. short the car side of the little white two pin connector.
