My current e30 (325i prefacelift 4dr SE) exhaust hangs very close to the floor (car lowered 60mm) about an inch from the centre box to the floor, so it smacks everything.

I was looking around a friends 325i facelift and his exhaust sits flushly underneath the body of the car. I've always assumed there are 2 mounting points for an e30 exhaust, at the backbox and the bracket of the gearbox on to the downpipe.

Is there a 3rd mount for the centre box or a way of adjusting the height of the exhaust? I will get under and have a look at my friends but figured I'd ask quickly to save getting dirty :)

Cheers

There are 2 mountings on the actual backbox, 1 just in front of it on the pipe and 1 on the gearbox.

I think it also depends on if you have a 2 or 3 piece exhaust.

Which ever it is, you could probably do with just replacing the rubber hangers fir the exhaust as these stretch over time anyway.
