Have seen a few kits (well bulbs) on ebay, are these any good and are they just direct replacements?
Need to get rid of the dirty yellow glow no the nights are drawing in
Cheers

I think they're superb and I wouldn't be without them. There's a sticky at the top of this forum with a simple fitting guide I wrote up.

Morat, I didnt realise the HID kits could be that cheap, effective and easy to fit. Roll on payday!

kk, stupid questions aplenty in many topics from me tonight, but if you do the dipped headlight, for HID surely that means you have a cool blue dipped beams and yellowish full beams, or am i being really thick and these kits do them both

aye but surely that then means you get a nice cool blue light, then dirty yellow (but brighter) glow on your mainbeams

Yes, only when you drive around with your main beams on, which you shouldn't be doing unless the road is empty.
HID's in the dipped beam are well worth it, and you will probably find you won't use the main beam as much anyway.

When you have HID dip beams you'll start treating your mains like "fill in" lighting rather than be cursing every second you can't drive on main beam at night.

I rarely use main beam these days. the HID's really do pick out the road signs and markings so well.

Use Philips Blue Vision or Osram Cool Blue bulbs in the inner lamps.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

No different to anything else Mate. Buy the best you can afford.

kits contain
- 2 lamps
- 2 ballasts
- 1 loom with relay and fuse
the colour can be changed by changing the lamps yes
all kits are the same, £80-£280 they are all pretty much identical but most people are just greedy!

to OP.
If you replace the dipped headlights with xeon, then when you set sidelights you lower the voltage to the power packs. This menas on sidelights, ignition on, you get strobes.
to Jhonno. No they are fine. As per above, my lights have strobed for ages (i actually thought it was cool when i first fitted them years ago).
