Annoying tapping

when i start my engine i get an annoying tapping noise from top end then after a while it dies down but is still there,is this the tappets need adjusting if so how hard is it to do.

its relatively easy job to do 
-if its your first time-budget on 4 hrs to do an oil change and your tappets
all the info you need is here!

well written and easy to follow
just remember to remove the spark plugs unless you're the HULK!
