1, were do i get the engine from (ebay?)
2,what running gear do i need
3, do brakes need up grading
4, is it easier and better to just by a smashed m3 if i can find one.

Any answers or input would be appreciated

Badly rear ended BMWs can have gearbox damage due to impact energy being transmitted forwards through the prop. Just something to bear in mind.
Minimum suspension and brakes spec. should be that of any touring, cab., or 325.

Ebay probably isnt the best place to buy anything like this, unless its a reputable company selling on there.
I think one guy on here bought a 3.2 evo engine on ebay only to have the bottom end go not long after - a few grand down the pan and he had to buy another 8O

Best place would be one of the BMW breakers (look in the back TBMW etc) or a breakers local to you that you trust. If you find a cheap S50 engine, its probably cheap for a reason and worth steering clear.

Mate seriously, do a search. Things like this have been covered loads of times. Any threads S50 related and most of the M50 threads will tell you what you need to know :thumb:
