About two months ago i took the cover of the blower motor under the bonnet and lubricated the motor shafts as it was loud and probably never done. all was well until yesterday. on my way to work it was quite warm whilst stuck in traffic so i stuck the fan blower onto 4 (cold) and a puff of smoke came out and smelt like burning electrics so i turned it off and left it. so today i changed the fuse (30a) and its fine on 1,2,3 but on 4 it blows the fuse? so this would suggest it was pulling to much current, but why? any suggestions much appreciated!
cheers jack
can anyone help heater electrics?!

Very strange! Your theory is plausible, except that if the motor was drawing sufficient current on full power to pop a 30A fuse, then I would expect it to destroy the lower speed resistors when on positions 1,2 and 3!
Can't think what the problem could be though! Try to get a meter on it to measure the current at various speeds.
