i've replaced almost everything on my 325i but still when it starts warming up and i give it a bit more throttle there is a smell of fuel that is that strong if the windows are open it will give me a headache and i start trippin and seeing things. Has anyone else had any problems like this or know anyone with problems like this if so can could i have some suggestions to what could be causing it because i'm running out of patience an slowly out of money. It's had the injectors stripped cleaned and resealed, and the breather pipe redirected to the back of the car, its had a new fuel tank and the filler neck has been sorted and the fuel lines are fine so its non of the above. Cheers for any help you can give me[/b]

does it smell like fuel from the petrol station??? (ei - unburnt petrol??)
if it doesnt then i think your car is running lean (not enoughfuel in the air flow mix) and its possible that your lambda sensor/temp sensor is naff

its a bit of a mixture of the smell it doesnt smell like its burnt but it doesnt smell like it has its really strange. undoubtably fuel though. the smell is comin from the passenger side foot well which made me think it was the injector pipe. some one we know has suggested the lambda sensor before but hes an idiot an know one likes him so we just ignored him. where wud i find this sensor?

Then Id do that ASAP!
IIRC (though I've never had to find it myself) its behind the passanger side wheel as you say, if you are convinced everything else is fine and thats where the smell is coming from thats where I would have looked first!

www.gsfcarparts.com
www.eurocarparts.com
both do next day delivery, both you can purchase online, but at least one of them should have a branch near to you if you want to pick up in store!
zimmerbimmer on this site works in a BMW dealership and will post parts also!

any idea how much it'll cost?
I'll just stick my 2 pence in, aparently the fuel filter was checked, don't know for sure though. again don't know for sure but the car feels a little slugish for a 2.5, runs ok but doesn't blow anything away (ran a 16.1 quater mile last year, which people delite in saying is very slow). How easy is it to change the fuel filter and lamba sensor? Back over to you Mr Doo.
