m43b16 fault codes? - wondering idle

hi all!

i have a problem with this engine, it's idle wonders around, and also, it has high fuel consumption, and you can tell it's running rich, it's exhaust smells like petrol fumes. and also failed mot because of that matter.
it doesn't seem to be a vacum leak because it only has 3 vacum hoses and all are intact, and no hiss audible.

My 320i was doing the same for a while but now its stoped altogether checked everything and no luck
think the fuel pressure reg is faulty
have you tryed setting the mixture

m43? im assuming this is in your E36 or E46? if so, and you say its not a hose/pipe related problem, then its possibly the cyclone valve. Common problem on these, as is the breather pipe that runs from the cyclone valve round the back of the head

it's the e36, round '94 engine model
i don't think you can adjust the mixture on these.
cyclone valve?

what is that? where is it located?
i mean what does it do?
if i run a diagnostic on will it help?
