Can anyone help me with exhaust problems on E30, 320i SE 1989 (F) very original car.
Original exhaust has gone and needs replacing all way through as well as the manifold gasket.
Been to two BMW and the combo of the exhaust has confused them both!
It is a 2 piece system with twin straight tail pipes at the back, no Cat (although the car is cat prepared meaning has loom for oxy / lambda sensor but no sensor present in exhaust sytem - marking in egine bay is '6K' which backs this theory up).
From manifold to tail pipes;
Manifold is 6 to 1 outlet which connects to exhaust via 4 studs in a sort of diamond pattern.
Two pipes join to make one complete section which connects to manifold.
These two pipes then pass into silencer (sort of side entry).
Short piece out of silencer to first join then teo pipes to rear box which then has two straight end pipes.
According to BMW parts system there 2 part exhaust has same rear section but the front section (with similar looking silencer) has two speperate pipes which don't match my manifold. Theres had two pipes with 3 studs in each (triangle arrangement).
Any advise / parts numbers etc would be great - i just want to find an original exhaust to replace mine and keep that great sound!
Thank You

I've got what sounds like the same system on my 320i, the front pipe is shot, but the rear box is under a year old.
Can you take a picture and post it.

Looked on the website mentioned above (very useful site) for pictures. Can find the exact rear section but the front combo I am refering to does not exist.
Any ideas?
