WASHER BOTTLES??????

This might be me bein stupid but on my 325ise tourer there is a washer bottle for the rear washer jet in the boot in the passanger side storage area which you fill by a little spout under the tail gate but on havin a leakin fuel filler i found nother bottle under the drivers side wheel arch does anyone know what its for?????????? mucho thanks and keep it sideways.

Its to do with the petrol tank vent.
