when i try and adjust my handbrake (disk setup) i'm getting some odd stuff going on.

i loosen the cables right off to the limit, then turn the adjuster in the drum part until the handbrake shoes start to drag, the loosen off. i then tighten up the cables to remove the slack.

now, when i put the handbrake on, the shoes lock onto the disk/drum but are free to rotate a few degrees. this means, for example, when i find the biting point of the clutch during a hill start, i can feel the car move a bit forwards before the handbrake stops it.

it's got new disks, pads and handbrake shoe and all of the linkages are free. the handbrake has loads of power, it's just this one annoyance!

i don't get it!!!!!!!!!

Yep Hands up me too. That makes three.

I think it's due to the adjusters being set in the correct order, but i got pissed off trying and live with it

ho hum... it's better than it was now i've adjusted but i can't remove all of the rotational play without the brakes binding.

it's like a land rover like this! (handbrake on the centre prop!)
