Hello everyone,

Just bought myself a 316i Lux as a runaround, its done 146,500 but is still going strong, bodywork isnt too bad, although its had a rear end shunt at some point in its life and someone has fitted a steel bumper rear panel and quarters to it?! :?

Anyway, as you can see from the pics, it looks very well, especially on the cross spoke alloys and 60mm lowering springs (although the latter may have to go as its a bit bumpy!)

To be honest I only wanted a piece of junk to get to work and back (I am into bikes in the nice weather) but this car has truly shocked me as to how good the E30 is considering its age, and so the slippery slope begins! Hehehe! 8) :D

Thanks! :D

I am falling for it the more miles I do in it... I can see some choice mods going on it...!  Any opinions on TDI and their upgrades?

Hehe, its a converted hospital and I rent share one of the houses with a few friends, its nice for now, but I doubt I will ever be able to own it! 8O

You could put a chip in it, but the 1.6 is never going to be really powerful....Chips are available on the e30zone for 55gbp.

The guy who does them, Ant, is away for a couple of weeks though.

The old e30 is great fun to drive!

You could slot in an M42 engine from a 318iS for 140bhp.

Or you could put in a 2.5 engine for 170bhp :)

Excellent stuff! 8)

A friend of mine commented on swapping in the M42 engine, but to be honest I dont think its worth it on this particular car, I just thought about pepping it up slightly, so a chip sounds ok! :)

It has a slight vagueness to the steering which I need to get sorted, but other than that, I love it! :D

Welcome to the zone, I've got the same car, although the mileage is "slightly" higher at 183k :D

Looks like yours is in pretty good nick, pre-facelift rear lights on an H-reg is something unique!

Looks pretty good that low as well
