I am in South Africa and have a 1987 318i - How can I tell for certain if I have a M10 or M40 engine ?
Also while driving in the mornings with the temp gauge between end of blue area and normal operating temperature, going around a corner(left or right) the car cuts out. If I wait a couple of minutes she would start up and just have a constant miss at around 3k rpm when cruising, and also misses under load, not violently though. I am suspecting the fuel transfer pump might be faulty.
