Picked up a reploacement gearbox from AndyP last night (cheers dude!).
Dropped the car with gearbox to Bexleys and had a phone call a while back.
The clutch was replaced very recently but who ever did it didnt put the dowels back in and the whole gearbox had 3 bolts on it!!.....yes 3!!
No wonder the gearbox got shagged and the gear lever was sitting 2 inches too far back!
Anyway, all is good now and short shift conversion was also put in.
Scorpion DTM wrongness back box also fitted!
Hopefully its a much nicer car to drive now and doesnt require all my bodyweight to change gears.
Dont you just hate mechanics that cant do their job properly!
My E30 Gearbox problem solved - u should read this!

my last car had the clutch replaced only it turns out they didnt do it up properly so it started slipping like a mofo.. so they sold it with a knackered clutch to me (cheap) all i had to do was tighten the bolts up, of which 2 were missing and the rest barely in

If the moron who did the clutch actually bothered to even put the bolts in I wouldnt have to replace the bloody gearbox!
Oh well, good thing I paid next to nothing for it in the first place otherwise I'd be crying!
First time im gonna have a short shifted E30 aswell!
