My car is white, but not particularly so ;) Am I right in thinking that Aplinwiess being a non metallic paint is as prone to fading as the solid reds? Of course, it won't go pink, but is it oxidisation that is causing it to be a dull white instead of a nice shiny white?
Is t-cut my next step or should I go down the wash and clay route?

Try the Meguiars 3 step kit - decent results for very reasonable cost.

yup,agree with Chris - I have meguirs for my red and it is very good. I have got from here http://www.performancemotorcare.com/ and they have proved very good and reliable.

it is worth buying the good applicator pads and cleaning cloths to use with the 3 stage - they are resusable - and can make all the difference. I am maybe going to try a clay bar but mine is at the point of needing a respray so may see how this goes first.

Right oh, sounds like a weekend of polishing if the weather holds up. I'll probably just depress myself as I discover all the rust spots... but hey. Its worth a go

Bollox. The weather was so good on Sunday the girlfriend dragged me out to stomp across the dales with the dog.
I've got meguiars hot wheels, microfibre wash mit, clay kit and all three steps of the three step kit sitting in a bag with the nice fat receipt!

If your feeling really brave try finding the finest grade wet n dry paper and give it a once over with that. Just tried it on my breaker which is white and it worked a treat! Bodyshops do this all the time!

Interesting, that. Before I had a go at respraying the tailgate I went at it with a scotchbright backed spongy foam pan scrubber thing. That seemed to help as well!

I just did all round the door handles and if got rid of all the marks very easily, although i was using 1200 grit so would probably go finer on my normal car. Certainly did the job very well though and would look great after a polish!
