question for andyboy and anyone else who might know.read the article in total bmw on 2.8 m20 engines.is it feasible to use a 2.0 head and rods,2.8 crank, eta pistons in a bored out 2.0 block with 2.5 inlet manifold and ecu.obviously better to start with a 2.5 but i have a 2.0.also can you tell me where to get a 2.8 bottom end and suitable pistons.i was wondering as you said in the article people are now using 2.0 heads on 2.7 builds. cheers

You could use 2.0 but you would be restricting power instead of using a 2.5 head as it has bigger valves

No! The Eta pistons will poke out of the block wheras the 325i ones are a perfect job - might as well do it properly!
The 2 litre head on a 2.7 works because you are using a bottom end ready built from BMW. Add a longer stroke crank to an Eta and the pistons come out of the top of the block by 3mm.
Just ring around the breakers for a shagged 2.8 M52, FAB might have one.
