Brake light wont go off

my brake lights on the clusters wont go off.

when the brake pedal is pushed they just blink and stay on.

any ideas?

there is a little switch behind the brake pedal easy to take out, perhaps its sticking on?

Thats what I thought, I had the same problem. Changed mine recently £9 for the switch from the dealers

It won't switch off if the brake pedal isn't coming up far enough to work it. In this case the pull rod that goes across the car behind the heater box will need adjusting slightly.

when you say clusters do you mean the instrument cluster
on the dashboard

if so it might be your brake sensor
you have 2 nearside front and offside rear
so your pads could be due a change

no i mean the rear lights. it just suddenly started happening. i will have to investigate tommorow, thanks

i'm sure its something to do with the brake light switch which is located behind the brake pedal.

the brake switch usually sticks, remove from top of pedal and push it into housing gently it will click when back at right position.

i just went outside and pulled the connection plug out and blew on it, then pushed the switch(didnt hear a clcik though) and now its all fine.

thanks for the help guys/girls
