Front lower SE lip,

Works or not?

Image

Image

Im also trying to build a new under tray (using carbon fiber) which will cover the belly of the car from the lip to the front cross member then from the cross member to the chassis rails to the middle of the Gearbox.

Thanks

Andrew

Looks good - be nice to see a full profile for a bit of perspective, though.

i once made some under body covers. Not Carbon fibre ,just poxy corrigated plastic. One was cut to the same profile as the tech2 front lower spoiler and fastened to the under body panel. Then i had one covering the gearbox area from the back of the transmision cover.I fitted them basically to stop crud from cumming up,especially at the front.I reomoved them when i did the engine conversion and then had them nocking about for ages and ended up resting parts on them etc.Ended up binning them as they were messed up.
Good idea though, will it be expensive in carbon fibre ?

The lip on yours,im not to sure.Maybe a photo further back to show rest of car.

Andrew, that looks really good mate. That thing needs a carbon airbox to make it sing!

BTW - do you still have that scorpian s14 backbox?

Buster, i have a mate who is looking into getting sheets of CF (1m by 1.5m square) this will then be cut to size.

I have no idea as to the costs of the materials but i cant see it being more than a SE undertray.

I think it looks good.

Is it set as far out as the one on matt's ?

I can't remember exactly as I last his back at brands last year, but I think his poked slightly further out.

do you think there is going to be a real (noticeable) effect on downforce? (genuine question)

Mate get over yourself, this has been on the cards for some time now.

After seeing your car at brands it just further reinforced my decision of getting a SE lip.

Im not sure if its out as much as Matts, but im limited to the shape of the hartge lower valance, but its very close to the SE lip step. The only problem is that the SE lip is wider than than the Hartge valance, which means it needs to be cut down. But thats not a problem ive found a way to strengthen the lot right onto the metal valance under the hartge/mtech II spoilers.

Just been to the shops got some high strength nylon bolts and nuts and some silicon winkeye

Cheers Dan

It looks very  I did laugh about the under tray idea, as in stopping crap getting up into the engine bay. On mine the undertray stops crap (oil) getting onto the drive

Got to take my hat off to you though mate excellent work and in one of the nices materials... I have a slight fetish for carbon fibre all be it in road/mountain bikes :D

In the states there is a guy who does the same kind of lip for the 'is' lower spoiler which fits the contours exactly.

So its best that you go for one of those.
