Ok guys,
I'm looking to uprate the suspension on my 318is.
I've heard good things about both the H&R cup kit and the KW suspension kits.
Can anybody tell of their personnel experiences with the 60 / 40 cup kit and the KW 30 / 30 kit?
The roads over here in Cork are fairly crap so i'm thinking that the 60 / 40 cup kit may a be a bit rough for the roads?
Bear in mind also that my car will have a full powerflex kit on it when i'm fitting the suspension.
Any recommendations and suggestions appreciated!
Thanks
H&R cup kit or KW suspension???

Hi Gussy im also in Cork and have KW 60/40 kit, shocks are good nd stiff nice height too, also polybushed all round and having no problems with roads!!
How much would I be paying to do the same? As in 60/40 and fully polybushed, are the results worth it? The suspension is the next thing on my list and I just want to get as much info together as possible before commiting

Polybushes are a must they totally change the feel of the car,in my opinion the only polybushes that change handling for the better are the front control arm bushes(M3 Essentric type) and the rear subframe.rear subframe polybushes are a gift for tightening the rear axle.even your granny would feel the difference in handling!
KW shocks and springs are nice and stiff and give the car the tight feeling standard doesnt give.I ordered my polybushes and KW setup from the zone shop on here.so prices are on there,
labour @40euro per hour bout 200 euro fitted,i had my diff rebuilt at same time so only guessing at 200 labour.
Yeah I was looking at the prices there, a grand would have the suspension and full poly set over. If the difference is as good as you say I will be thinking seriously about it. I have the car looking how I want but its still only a humble 318, you guys are lucky with the iS. Thanks for the reply beem
Im in Blarney, i dont think the 60/40 would make the car rough,KW shocks are very stiff but thats the way i like it,you could always go koni on a soft setting if this was a serious concern.and get KW springs.Gussy wrote:Whereabouts in Cork are you from?
Does the car not feel a bit rough on the 60 / 40 no?
No problem mate, start off with the polybushes first,do the control arms and subframe as these are the main ones.then do your shocks nd springs when able to afford it.e30mclow wrote:Yeah I was looking at the prices there, a grand would have the suspension and full poly set over. As happy as i am with my H&R 60/40 cup kit, as time goes on im starting to think the setup is a little soft........

cupkit is excellent and not too soft. it's one of the best balances between looks, ride quality and handling going. It's soft on the rear to help with traction, especially in the wet
Nothing else touches it for the money imo

h&r cup kit is a serious piece of kit
if you want a drive gussy to help you decide, let me know!
i have to say i wouldnt go 60/40 but its very much a personal taste thing.
though you would be forever clipping the front in county clare- dont know what its like in cork,,,, i presume as bad.
