Im interested in some new rear speakers on the Msport.
Convertible owners seem to be some what limited, with the size of the stupid holes, I mean only big enough for 13cm or 5 1/4" flush mounted speakers, its pants.

As for those stupid clipped covers, they are very s*it. Those silly metal brackets that break (easy).

Have any of you chaps had this most anti-social problem. And more to the point how have you tackled this problem tastefully.

What are the best 13cm speakers?.

Cheers Gareth

or you could stick some mids in your front door cards. I done this with some Blaupunkt speakers and it was nice.

I've been doing some research on replacement speakers with a sensible price-quality-ratio. This is the setup my convertible will be getting in the near future:

And both sets fit in the OE speaker positions without any modifications...?

Giles, those Blaupunkt speakers look good.

I think I just want to update in the space's Iv'e got, with the best possible
speakers rather than creating new holes in door cards for speakers/tweeters. Those wing mirror tweeter, OEM part thingy's look ideal.

Whats the quality of the speaker cable in these cars?. Any good or 15 year old tat?.

Gareth.

You might as well replace the cables, it'll only be a hlf hour job (if you know what you're doing). It's only crappy bog-standard cheapo speaker wire that's in them, and if you're spending the money on decent speakers and already have a good head unit, you might as well go the whole hog and do it properly, it'd be rude not to. Knowing you, if you don't do it, it'll always be in the back of your head that you didn't do it, when you could have...

Directed electronics also do a very good set for the rears as they are 5 1/4 but the mounting depth is about 42mm i think
