When my car is started from cold you hear a sort of tapping noise and when you accelerate. As the car gets warmer the noise is not as loud but you can still hear it. It does'nt seem to affect the performance much but its annoying. I've been told the valve clearences need adjusting but i'm not sure. Can anyone offer any advice? By the way its a 325 sport

I don't htink its that cause i could hear it blowing before i had the gasket done but now there's no blowing plus its more responsive now. Its the tapping nose i think i'll get the clearances adjusted and see if that solves it.ifty wrote:i had my cars gaskit done but it started to make that noise after few months cud be a stud broken to

try owning a M40 1.8, constant tapping from cold to hot as it gets. Drives me crazy
