I have seen that you can get a stroker kit for the 2.5 M20 to increase its displacement up to 3.1 litres - costs about £1000.
Would this provide better performance than the M30 3.5 lump?

£1000 seems a bit cheap for a kit that would need to include a crank, bearings, conrods and pistons.
Think you'd be better off spending £150 on an M30 and not worrying about the tiny rod/stroke ratio and massive piston speeds that a stroker and re-bore would curse an M20 with.

Is this the IE 3.1 kit? $2k does seem cheap, but there will be alot of costs on top of this. Import duty, shipping, machine work on the block, headgasket and bolts, big injectors, uprated cam, exhaust manifold etc etc. Going to cost BIG money if you are going to do a proper job.
