Apart from the engine wat else do i have to change to get the car running i want to keep a 320 diff and gearbox thou for betta pullaway or is that crap how long would it take routhly to change the engine and if i throw some money sum1 would they fancy giving me a hand in bmth area preferably with some experience

u will have to change ecu and airflow aswell my mates just done this conversion and is is rapid with the 320 diff and box it pulls very well

Yep I've just put a 2.5 in my 320i and kept the standard box & it accelerates very nicely, a bit high reving on the motorway but i would rather have the acceleration.

I threw away the oil cooler as i didn't think it was neccesary, and replace these old engine and gearbox mounts.

Mine took me 15 months and is still not MOT'd :eek: but I was lazy had some problems with the engine and done little bits at a time. If you were fully prepared I expect you could do it in a long day.

Later ECUs are actually the same except for the chip, so, if you were going to fit a zone chip anyway, you can keep the original ECU.
