Cant help with the Z3 subframe questions, but the engine conversion is basically the 2.8 M52 conversion from the E36.

Do a serach for M50 conversion and that should bring up all you need to know. The M50 and M52 conversions are pretty much the same except for some wiring differences.

Keep the enigne loom on the 2.8 as that gets wired into the E30 body loom, but that should become clear when you read through the various threads that come up with a search.

The rear subframe wont but the swingarms will bolt to the E30 subframe.

I dount the E36/Z3 front subframe you have will bolt to an E30 else whay are we changing the sumps on our E36 engine conversions??? (someone re-assure me!)

The 2.8 gearbox could well be the same as my M Roadster 3.2 (5speed) box and as such should bolt in using the E30 cross member and the E30 M3 prop.

The engine sould go onto the E30 subframe using the sump and pick-up pipe of the E34 525i (M50 engine'd one) and the existing engine mount arms and M535i engine mounts (E28 I think???)

Wring I'll let someone else more qualified explain.

Good luck.
