Hi, just bought my first BMW a 316i compact, on the way home it started to jump out of 1st. If you let up the clutch, give a little gas it jumps out .
It doesn't happen all the time but scares the sh*t out of you when it does.
Its a '97 with 52k miles with full BM history....any ideas what it could be, is it a known problem.

if you´re a bit tasty with a spanner, then you could try going through the parts on here ^^^
i dont think its a gearbox issue, but its a possibility
