Hey all,

I'd like to relocate my power window breaker switch from the console (next to the shifter) up to a blank on my dash (next to the hazard switch) like on earlier E30s. Before I tear my dash apart, is this a reasonably straight forward swap? I know the two switches are subtly different, but are they interchangeable? Cheers.

The breaker switch will fit in the dash hole. I think you'll even have enough wiring to just simply re-locate it.

No need to tear your dash apart, just removing the centre console / gear shift surround should give you all the working space you need.

What are you going to use to fill the hole in the console though?

?
supply wire may be long enough, but the wire between the breaker and switch will need to be replaced -it's only a few inches long.

So, is it as simple as snipping the two light green wires near the switch and splicing-in an extra length of wire?

Chris, I've got a replacement console with no cutout for the breaker--looks a lot cleaner, imho.

One of the green wires will possibly reach the new position.
