Hello,

I'm new. Please can somebody help? My beautiful 1993 E30 got broken into today. They smashed the window and because the glove compartment was locked, have completely trashed it. The lock bit is hanging off separately to the bit that holds things and they have hacked at the dashboard above it using it as leverage. I am devastated.

I need to know if anyone can suggest where I can get this fixed as I would rather not claim on insurance if I can avoid doing so. I live in NW London.

A word of warning to everyone as I learnt a big lesson today. I had left the plastic thing that holds a Tom Tom attached to the windscreen and the charger in the car. They were obviously looking for the Tom Tom as they took nothing from the glove box. They didn't find it as it wasn't there but I'll never leave clues as to having one in the car or lock my glove box again.

Hope someone can help me.

Gutted for you mate. We should be allowed 240volt shock systems on our alarms.

There's a similar thread running somewhere else on here.

Glove box is easy to replace, I've got one for a fiver + post.

If they've damaged the dash the chances are you won't be able to repair it but you will find good ones on here from Ԛ£20 upwards.
I'm not completely perfect.......there are some bits missing or broken.
But the weather here helps!!!

I have a couple of unmarked dash's @ Ԛ£25 each and would throw in the glove box foc.
Could also fit the whole lot for you but is a fairly lengthy job so would need a reasonable sum to make the time.
Cheers Spadge...

Hello. Thank you for your replies. How does one communicate with you? I tried sending a PM and got banned from the site.

Shouldn't be any problems with you using the PM system. Let us know if you have further problems.
