Does anyone know off the top of their head the cheapest place to get the above. My local autotrader quoted Ԛ£180+. Thanks in advance, Joe.

Walbro 255l/h are around 100 usd. They are performance fuel pumps, so not the cheapest, but are very good value for money.

Other option is to get used fuel pump from a facelift E30. E36 pump fits in there too, with some light modifications.

Thanks, looks like I'll be off to the scrappy then. Does anyone know if any pump will fit any car or are they engine size/body style specific. ie will the pump from my old 320 touring fit my 325 touring?

The actual pumps are the same and can be swapped over, but the mounting brackets come in two flavours.
One sort just has one pipe coming out of it, the other has two. The second pipe is the fuel return pipe from the injector rail.
