As part of my suspension overhaul, I fancy fitting a front strut brace (namely the sparco item in the zone shop) to my 318is - Can anyone tell me if this is a worthwhile mod if the car is running stock suspension?

I think the lines have been drawn. ie 50% of zoners think they make a difference and 50% say they make no difference.
At the end of the day its a cheap mod (compared to engine conversions) and if you like it go for it. I have a twin tube bought tfrom the zone shop.
I had mine fitted along with new shocks, springs, anti roll bars so im not qualified to do a before and after test based on the stut bar alone

I put one on my standard IS and i thought it made a difference the car steamed alot or ridgid up front and you only got feed back from the steering and you didnt feel the front of the car " taking the strain" as you went round a corner IMO it made a worth while difference.
and even if you dont think it makes a difference , its still looks nice

I think a strut brace is a good mod on any car.It is cheap and i think it may help if you were in a accident.I have a sparco one and it is good quality.

u have to drive quick on the road to really notice.
i would recommend the sparco but the steel one which mounts to the side of the turret and is one piece with no hinges on it. plus it's the cheapest one they do.
it doesn't flex like the others and in the way it mounts doesn't put massive strain on the top mount nuts

I have a Sparco one in the front and also have one a Sparco one in the rear. Good investment I say.
