hello guys,

just in the middle of fitting a new car loom to my 86 325i cabby. the loom i am fitting is off a 89 car.

so far i have.....

taken the old loom out.

put the new one back in its place as much as possible without chopping off and replacing connectors for lights etc.

bolted the earthing points from the new loom to the body of the car.

hooked up the 3 plugs that go to the steering colum

connected the fusebox to the battery and the round connector on the bulkhead

plugged in the door connectors

I have not as yet sorted the wiring for the fuel pump / fuel sender ( next job that i will need some help with )

at what point should i expect to see any life from the instrument panel? ( or anything for that matter ?? )

I would like to at least know if i'm going in the right direction before i start chopping and changing all the fiddly little bits.

thanks for any help as I have loads more questions to follow !!
