Guys,
From searching the forum, I understand a few of you have done this to stop scum / chavs / thieving gypsy barstewards (delete as applicable) from nicking your center caps.
Do any of you have any pictures of how you've done it? Have you drilled through the metal part of the cap and then into the wheel? (my idea was to do this, as it'd hold the cap on the wheel as well - my clips on the center hex aren't all that great)
Or have you done something else, like a bolt through the flange of the plastic hex onto the metal to stop it from turning?
Any advice would be appreciated, and pics of what they look like after being scum-proofed would be nice)
Thanks in advance,
GOO.

Silicone works well for me. Not only do you need the tool to remove them but also a flat screwdriver to lever them off. Mind you, saying that, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the scum/chavs/pikeys will also have these tools
Luckily i have 14" wheels and no one wants the caps off them!

A bolt through the plastic to stop it from being turned wouldn't stop the cap from being levered off.
Drill the edge of the metal and put two bolts in each cap, use one as a template for all the wheels so they can be changed from wheel to wheel.
If you drill the wheel and tap the hole on the flat part dont go any deeper than about 10mm or you come out the back of the wheel
this then lets water in and will seize the bolt once it starts to rust, nothing major that a bit of copper greese won't solve but a pain all the same.
If you use small bolts you can get them to sit in the indents around the edge of the cap.
Its worth doing considering the caps don't get any cheaper.

There is NO nucleus.

Thanks Martin
Have you done this to yours? If so, is there any chance of a couple of photos? I understand what needs to be done, but a piccy speaks a thousand words and all that.
Ta,
