auto box question?

Hi , i've got a 91 320i std auto (none switchable one ), will be fitting 1 std 2.7 ETA into , are all m20/ m2.7 auto box the same interchangable??
if not how do i tell

Not great on auto boxes but guess you may need to change the diff before you find out how the box behaves should be ok...if you need a 325i Sport switchable box I have one you can have for Ԛ£75..to get it out of my way...out of a breaker ran well...engine going in a track car

Let me know the gearbox numbers on the side of the box and I will look up for you and compare with 325 box if that helps

Thanks will get round to looking at numbers
i assume/ hope / that all 6 pot auto boxs many be the same and just the dif ratios wil be different,
