Just wondering what temperature other folks 325s run at?

Mine is a recent purchase and I've noticed that it runs on or slightly above the halfway mark.
So I'm replacing the viscous fan coupling, the radiator and the thermostat.
Hopefully this will cool things down a bit!
Can anyone recommend anything else that I can do to improve things.

I noticed that Karan has an electric fan - is this an easy mod? I've heard that standard fans sap about 5bhp 8O

Don't forget the temp sensor too, mine was fooked and the needle was just over halfway all the time, after the change it was where it is now, between a 1/4 and a 1/2. The sender was cacked in crap, must have been the original one.

HTH :D

E30 temp gauges are not linear and have a greatly expanded centre section covering just a few degrees. As long as the needle comes out of the blue, and doesn't stray to close to the red it is fine.
The electric fan from the E32 7 series or E34 5 series can be fittrd fairly easily. The fuse and relay positions are already in place in the fusebox, but the original radiator probably won't have the tapping for the control thermo switch. Replacement radiators often have the tapping, fitted with a blanking plug. You just have to run wires from the fusebox to the fan and thermo switch.

Thanks for that, is there an article anywhere on the forum or elsewhere about exactly how to do this?

Cheers,
