hi folks, recently picked up my dream car, a 1990 e30 m3. until last week i didnt even know this sight existed. so already my dream car is doing ggod things for me!! anyway back to the matter in hand. after getting underneath fer a few of the bushes are looking a bit rough. what are thoughts or experiences of poly bushes?? also does anyone have a list of the bushes and sizes i would need?? been on powerflex site but various different sizes. since spoke to bmw garage in the isle of man (home) but been three days and they aint got back yet..

also for some silly reason the previous owner decided i would be a great idea to ditch the coss spoke alloys and replace them with some terrible aftermarhet 17" alloys. while sourcing some xspokes i came across some bbs split rim ( BBS 1093531 / RC090). the owner currently has them on e36 would these go on an e30 m3?????

many thanks, toby

My dad changed all the bushes and it did make a noticble difference. He said there was a massive difference.
I think the E36 is alot higher than an M3 so spacers maybe required.

offset on e36s is a lot different than e30 m3s

as said spacers would be needed

bbs splits are around in correct fitment

best of luck with car

bushes can be down to preference you can go rubber or poly. poly bushes can squeek when not done properly so if you go with a poly bush make sure its been greased with the right stuff before its fitted. poly bushes also last far far longer too. but the rubber bushes will give you a more supple ride and keep the car a little more OG.. personally id go with poly bushes every single time.

I have just done my rear beam mounts with polys and they are a lot stiffer. No squeaking but there is more road noise and vibration in the car than before. So personal preference more than anything else.

Gratz on the car btw!

Well from my experience and if you do a search you will also find that im not the only one who finds them shite and they certainly dont last longer than the Stock E30 M3 ones from BMW.

I would stick with BMW bushes only.

If your car is for road use only, then the rubber bushes are the best...

However, if you plan to use the car on a track and can tolerate the extra noise and vibrations, then the polybushes will give you taughter handling

The bushes are available either from the Zone shop (for the front control arm and rear beam) and from somewhere like C3 for the trailing arm set and the anti-roll bushes...There is also a diff mounting polybush!

If you're thinking of changing the anti-roll bar bushes, then consider changing/uprating the bar at the same time...The bushes are a right fight to fit...so you may as well fight for the better control of the uprated bar!

Shame about the wheels....You can get OE 15" or 16" BBS rims...the 15" ones are easier to find and shouldn't cost you too much...The 16" on the other hand are scarce on the s/h market...There was a chap on the BMW-board forum selling some 15s

I have to say that since I've replaced the front and rear anti roll bar to chassis bushes with the poly ones I'm experiencing a clunk noise from both the front and rear of the car on bends.Damned if I can isolate the source, may change back to new oem ones in an effort to remedy..
