hi guys,

I've gotten round to fitting the handbrake mechanism and shoes to my car and what ive done just doesnt look right. Ive followed the bently but the problem is the brake shoes are rubbing the backing plate (1). Im not sure if this stops rubbing when the cables are adjusted or not.

Does anyone have any ideas? it seems as if the springs (2) that hold the shoes in place need to be on the back instead of on the top to push the shoe away from the plate?

Cheers
Si

the groove on the backing plate locates the shoes and the springs (item 2) holds them in place and are located correct,so id say that looks fine.
