ok well some twat has already been butchering the metal

so im thinking to chop out a little more then bolt in a nice a slab of mdf
to take 4x 8inchers winkeye

is this ia problem structuraly sp ??

not planning to remove the whole panel more tidy up the mess thats allready been made
plus help me sounds along in the process :wink:

It should be ok you already have holes in it.
Did know you could get 4x8's only heard of 6x9's.

Oh :D There wont be a lot of metal left then. I had a mk2 cavailer and I cut the shelf to fit two 10" suds.

i was told by an mot testing friend that your car can actually fail an mot if you remove to much metal from rear shelf , even 6x9s are pushing it.

i suggest you read the link in the post above and question your friend quite closely regarding the quality of his/her information.
that area of the car is not examined for normal mot purposes
