Insurance is due for renewal, & I wanna go somewhere decent this time - Ie where I'll not be out of pocket if some lowlife has away with my car or whatever. I figure getting an agreed value's got to be important - I don't want someone coming back & saying "it's a 20 year old car - have £500". So what's it worth?? Best quote's currently from Flux, I've not asked about an agreed valuation yet, but all the mods are declared & covered.

Some of you saw it at Gaydon - the '87 zinnobar 325i cab?
For those who didn't;
v.good paint (resprayed a couple of years ago - before I got it, just had the bonnet, boot & an arch done - no rust), v.good leather, all the toys (cruise, heated seats, obc etc), 130k miles, 16" Hartge splitties (as soon as they're polished! :) ), 3.91LSD, fair bit of ICE, Racing Dynamics mani, Supersprint 'zorst, BBTB, chip, strutbrace, lowered on adjustable rear springs, m3 shocks, zender front & rear skirts, bmw option front skirt.

So any ideas?

try hic (herts insurance consultants) - they use highway to underwrite (at least some of) their agreed value policies. to get an agreed value you have to take a load of pics (they accept digi pics on cd, helpfully,) fill out a form and send the lot to them. they then pore over it a while and either agree the valuation you've made or knock it down a bit and issue a certificate to that effect. they also take on modded cars and protect no claims bonuses already gained so all in all they provide a good service.

if you can get a valuation in writing from the car club and/or find some classifieds with similar to yours for sale at around the same money as you're asking this will help matters along nicely. a magazine feature also helps massively, but may be more difficult to arrange.
