Hi there!

My rear wiper on the touring appears to have a mind of its own-it starts working whenever it feels like (regardless of whether the button is in or not) 8O

so much so, its really irritating me :x

Therefore I'm thinking about removing the entire wiper/rear washer assembly as I never really use it anyways.

Has anyone on the 'zone done this mod?If so any hints and tips would be much appreciated...

Cheers

you need to remove the lower trim piece on the inside of the tailgate and remove the bolts holding the wiper motor. Then lift the plastic cover on the wiper arm and remove the bolt from the spline. The motor should now come out. You would then need a suitable bung for the hole you have left over.

As datourer says...

Remove the trim in the boot, undo the bolts, take off the wiper arm and the motor will come out. You may wish to put electrical insulation tape round the connectors and a bung of some sort in the water pipes.

A friend of mine who does roofing had some black mastic which he kindly used to seal up the hole which was left after taking the motor off, which has worked perfectly.
